Richard G. Salzman, Esq. is an experienced DUI Defense and Criminal Defense attorney; licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey since 1986,
I believe that individuals should not be judged by their worst act, and that nobody is immune from making poor choices or mistakes in judgment. If the rights of the most vile living among us do not matter, it is only a matter of time before all of us lose the protection of the rule of law.
When people ask me "How can you defend them?" my reply is simple. We, as criminal defense lawyers, are forced to deal with some of the lowest people on earth, people who have no sense of right and wrong, people who will lie in court to get what they want, people who do not care who gets hurt in the process. It is our job - our sworn duty -as criminal defense lawyers, to protect our clients from those people.
