Every summer Eastern Music Festival & School, North Carolina's Musical Treasure, hosts more than 100 orchestral, chamber, fringe, & jazz conce
The EASTERN MUSIC FESTIVAL & SCHOOL is one of this country's foremost training programs for aspiring young orchestral and piano students between the ages of 14 and 22, presented within the nationally-known summer music festival.
Our 49th season (June 26 thru July 31, 2010) will bring together a cross-section of America's most sought after artists with pre-professional students in a 5-week schedule of more than 100 concerts and music-related events. Music Director Gerard Schwarz has lined up an exciting Festival Orchestra Series with cellist Lynn Harrell, violinists Gil Shaham and Tianwa Yang, and pianists Barry Douglas and William Wolfram.
Special events include Music of Remembrance (July 25), Peter and the Wolf (July 24), First Annual Piano Competition (July 18), & much more.
