About Opal Mountain Mines
Owners of opal mine in Spencer, Idaho. We do our own mining, cutting and setting of the 14K or sterling silver jewelry, offered at our store in Spence
Our mining headquarters, in Spencer, Idaho offers a video tour of the mine and our personal collection of some museum quality opal on display. Some of our collection is now on display at the Natural History Museum of the Smithsonian. The Idaho Opal is the largest concentration of commercially mined opal in the United States. We began developing our mine in 1992, with the intention of doing this as a hobby. When the rest of the world saw what we were getting, the hobby turned into a big business. It is still just Bob & Susan, but our demand for Idaho Opal has kept us busy. Our #1 concern is quality and affordability. We have a product "Made in USA" to offer either wholesale or retail. If in Idaho, plan to visit us in Spencer....or visit our web site for mail order.
