The EOBCC was the regional legal body responsible for receiving and administering funds allocated under the Economic Opportunity Act.

The EOBCC was the regional legal body responsible for receiving and administering funds allocated under the Economic Opportunity Act, a part of the Johnson's Administration's War on Poverty Program. The Economic Opportunity Board of Clark County (EOB) was incorporated in the State of Nevada in September 1964. EOB is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation servicing residents of Clark County. EOB opened its first office on April 5, 1965, with a staff of 4 persons and a program development grant of $25,000. The Agency's purpose was the same then as it is now, to fight the problems of poverty. EOB provides various community service programs funded by the United Way, city, county, state, federal, and private sources.
