After 16 years in the non-profit world, I began my private practice in August of 2007. I have extensive experience in adult individual and couple's therapy, and am trained in both Level I and II EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
My work is client-centered and solution-focused, with the client-therapist relationship an important and central tool of the process. Coming from a strong systems and psychodynamic model, I believe that early life experiences can shape beliefs, perspectives, and behaviors that may cause problems in adult functioning and relationships. I believe that psychotherapy can be a corrective experience for those willing to explore their history, take risks in new behaviors, and challenge old and unhealthy beliefs and patterns.
