About Evergreen Manors Supportive Services
Evergreen Manors is a housing development in the Eldarado section of Altoona. It is close to schools, shopping, and recreation.
Evergreen Manors has 159 apartments in 23 buildings situated on 8 acres of land. In addition to the Supportive Services Program on-site there is also an After-School Program operated by the Gloria Gates Memorial Foundation, an on-site Girl Scout Troop, and a wide variety of activities which also includes two festivals and a Christmas celebration. Many field trips are planned by the service coordinator and funded by Grants from Operation Our Town, the Central Pa Community Foundation, Ida, and the Tickets for Kids Foundation. Many new programs for students are scheduled to begin in the next few months: Boys & Girls Club, Journeys Teen Employment Program, and the DIVAS in Training program. There is also an on-site food pantry, 4 computers with internet access, & supplies for school projects.
