IDI teaches a 640 hour course in commercial diving (surface supplied air, hyperbaric chamber operation, underwater welding & burning, salvage, etc
One of less than 12 such commercial diving schools in the United States, the International Diving Institute (IDI) has what is believed by many to be the finest diver training facility. IDI offers the instruction necessary to work as a commercial diver, including on government jobs & in the offshore oil industry. Partial financing is available. IDI is a member of Association of Diving Contractors International (ADC) & trains to the Standards published by the Association of Commercial Diving Educators (ACDE), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the National Association of SCUBA Educators (NASE), & the Sea Research Society (SRS). It also offers speciality courses in such fields as ROV Operation and Shipwreck Research, Search & Salvage. It also sells diving gear & teaches scuba.

Opening Hours
IDI's divers train from 6:00AM through 3:00PM Monday through Friday, with an hour off for lunch. Both the school's business office and the diving equipment store are open from 9 to 5 Monday-Friday, with store also open on Saturdays from 10 to 5.
