CANASTOTA -- There is a lifetime of enthusiasm for boats and sailing behind South Shore Nautical and their newly-opened Blue Schooner Gift Shoppe, said co-owner Stan Zielasko.
"I've always enjoyed boats and I've been sailing all of my life -- that's really my inspiration for starting this business," Zielasko, who owns the stores with wife Fawn, explained.
South Shore Nautical started eight years ago across from the current location on Route 31, and had a good business selling boats and acuterments until the property Zielasko was leasing ended up sold. He took a four year hiatus from retail, concentrating on his full-time position with Federal Express, until the land on the south side of the street beca
