Our Role
Protect and improve the health of communities through education and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Improving the quality of life for all of our residents and visitors by providing access to quality health care to all of the people in Highlands County regardless of ability to pay. Our primary focus is on our population without a "medical home". A "medical home" is not a place but a special relationship that you have with the health care professionals who provide for you and your family. Continue to build partnerships in the community to maximize available resources.
The Highlands County Health Department strives to ensure services are available to all. The cost of services depends on ones ability to pay and fees are applied on a sliding scale.
