Rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Akitas in need in Virginia and on the east coast.
Rakki-Inu Akita Rescue, INC, or RIAR, is a breed specific rescue whose purpose is to rescue and find loving, forever homes for Akitas in need in VA, and occasionally other states. We strive educate the public about this wonderful breed, assist current Akita owners with any problems they might have, and to help potential adopters find the dog that fits them. All RIAR's Akitas come spayed/neutered, examined fully by a licensed veterinarian, up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. All of our animals are kept in foster homes, where their health and well-being are the first priority, until just the right forever home is found. We operate soley on a volunteer basis by indiviuals who donate their time, talents, and love. Find us and our adoptable dogs on Facebook as well!
