About Allegheny County Memorial Park
Cemetery in Allison Park, PA
Prior to becoming a cemetery in the late 1920s, Allegheny County Memorial Park had been a large family farm. The landscaping of the 100 acres was completed in June1929. In the late 1950s, there was a chime tower with speakers and a large pipe organ in the office building that was used for funerals and concerts on Sunday afternoons.
Now at Allegheny County Memorial Park, there are two large mausoleums and one garden crypt unit, as well as one private estate. The Temple of Love mausoleum was built in 1981, with additions added in 1986 and 1998. The first burial took place on Nov. 20, 1929. Since then, there have been approximately 34,000 burials in the cemetery.
