I am a Tlingit musician and songwriter from Juneau. I just released my third CD entitled, "Alaska Jazz". I write and sing all of my own music working closely with my wife Melinda as my co-lyricist.
I was born and raised in Kake. I blended some of my Tlingit language in this pop jazz CD on the songs "I'm So Excited" and "Just a Little Bit". You can listen to sound bytes of the CD at my website at: www.archiecavanaugh.com.
The cover on "Alaska Jazz" is a contemporary Tlingit design I carved on a cedar panel. I also designed and carved the cover of my previous CD, "Love Birds". "Love Birds" is a compilation of Love Songs.
