About In the Storm Too Long
Inspirational story of a young lady who learns to deal with life after being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
Summary of the book
In the Storm too Long is the inspirational story about an African American young woman who struggles through a rough childhood and overcomes challenges every day to survive as an adult in an unforgiving world. At the age of eighteen, she became pregnant with her first child by an older man who was like a father figure most of her teenage life. At the age of 27, she was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in April 1998. At the time of her diagnosis, she also discovered she was pregnant with her second child.
Life became unbearable as she suffered shame, embarrassment and humiliation, even from family members. For 13 years this young woman hid in darkness to avoid judgment and questions that come from the realization that someone you know has been infected with the AIDS virus.
