Danforth Pewter is made by hand in our workshop in Middlebury, Vermont. There are Danforth retail stores in Burlington, Middlebury, Waterbury and Quechee, Vermont, carrying the full line of fine pewter jewelry, holiday ornaments, kitchenware, oil lamps, vases, baby gifts and personal and home accessories. We also own and operate the Shirley Pewter Shop in Colonial Williamsburg, along with danforthpewter.com and shirleypewter.com. We make custom pewter for companies like Life is good and Longaberger Basket.
Thomas Danforth II opened a pewter workshop in colonial Connecticut in 1755, and generations of the family followed him into the trade. There is colonial Danforth pewter in the Smithsonian, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Colonial Williamsburg collection.
