Mental Health Awareness outreach for the Haitian Community in Central Florida.
The purpose of Polycarpe, Inc. is to provide awareness of mental health issues to the Haitian population. We work to educate Haitian individuals with various degrees of social, behavioral and financial difficulties that make it challenging for them to access proper mental health treatment. Cultural adjustment needs for some Haitians who are newly immigrated to the United States affects their mental stability. Services are given to assist with assimilation into the community through education, employment, housing and language acquisition through our referral base. Community Education and Interaction of Mental Health Awareness group sessions for Haitians are the primary focus.
