About Gakona Lodge & Trading Post
Historic Lodge located in the heart of Gakona, Alaska. Provides lodging, food, drink and guided fishing to travelers and vacationers in the Alaska.
Historic lodge established in 1904. On the Register of Historic Places. Considered one of the only remaining original Roadhouses in Alaska. The lodge consists of a 10 room lodge, a restaurant (Carriage House) and bar (Trappers Den Tavern) in a historic setting. The lodge offers guided fishing for King, Sockeye and Silver Salmon as well as fly fishing for Rainbows and Grayling. The lodge is located approx. 125 miles north of Valdez, 18 miles north of Glennallen at the confluence of the Gakona and Copper River. Travelers will recognize the name Copper River because of the famous Sockeye Salmon that are harvested. Gakona Lodge is a family run business.
