Dashaway Company develops and sells a specialized mobility device for people who can't walk at all, or can't walk safely, with a traditional walker.
The Dashaway is engineered for people with balance disorders, degenerative neurological conditions (Parkinson's Disease, MS, Ataxia, Muscular Distrophy), gait and movement disorders, brain and spinal injuries, stroke patients and seniors at high fall risk. The Dashaway allows users to walk upright. By encouraging upright posture, the padded armrests allow users to transfer their weight onto the walker. This helps with pain relief and allows for more self-powered movement. It has allowed people to walk who have been wheelchair-bound for months or even years, while others have been able to walk longer and farther than the could with traditional devices. It's patented, default braking system sets it apart from all other mobility walkers on the market today.
