Pet Portraits of any pet done on what is called scratchboard. I work from a clear photograph and keep in contact through email throughout the process.
Scratchboard is a hard masonite board that is coated in white clay and then covered in layers of black india ink, so that the surface I start out with is black instead of the traditional white surface. I first sketch out your pet on paper, than transfer that sketch to the scratchboard where I then use special metal tools to scratch out the drawing and all the details. I use colored india inks to give you a full color portrait of your pet(s). Sizes start out at an 8x10 portrait on a 9x12 board (I give you a border for easy framing). Prices for this size start at $250 but I am running a special for the holidays of half off any size. Each size larger is an additional $50 (or $25 with the sale).
