Marissa A. Barrera, MS, MPhil, TSHH, MSCS, CCC-SLP
Ms. Barrera is the owner of New York Neurogenic Speech-Language Pathology, P.C. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist (NY/NJ) and Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist (MSCS) with extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with neurologic conditions. Ms. Barrera primarily works with individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, however, actively treats patients with Parkinson's Disease, Aphasia, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia, Alzheimer's Disease, Spinal Cord Injury, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Huntington's Disease, Myasthenia Gravis, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). She also certified in the delivery of LSVT LOUD and VitalStim.


Ms. Barrera has previously worked in a variety of settings including, acute care (hospital), outpatient rehabilitation, home care and private practice. She has several publications in peer reviewed journals in addition to giving invited lectures at local, state, national and international conferences (See Press). Ms. Barrera is an adjunct lecturer at CUNY, Lehman College and Hunter College's graduate programs for Speech-Pathology where she teaches Acquired Motor Speech & Swallowing Disorders and Adult Neurogenic Communication Disorders.
