About Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Kingsport, Inc.
IHNGK, an affiliate of Family Promise organizes local churches to provide shelter & assistance to homeless families with children in NE TN & S
IHNGK is a nonprofit corporation which unites local churches to provide shelter, meals and comprehensive case management to homeless families with children. Each Host Church provides overnight shelter and meals for a week at a time. During the day adults are taken to a Day Center where a Case Manager works with them to develop a plan which includes budgeting and linking the families with social services, employment, education and job skills training, health care, day care etc. IHNGK's goal is to help families overcome whatever barriers they might have to obtaining employment and housing so that they will be able to provide stability for their children. Families remain in shelter until they move into their own housing as long as they are pursuing their Self-Sufficiency Plan.
