About Junior Achievement of Nepa Inc
Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Inc. (JANEPA), founded locally in 1968, is one of 139 franchise areas in the U.S. of JA Worldwide???.
A not-for-profit organization, JA serves approximately 10,000 young people in kindergarten through twelfth grade each school year.
Junior Achievement recruits volunteers from local businesses to facilitate economics-oriented lessons for students enrolled in JA programs. Volunteers provide five weekly visits at the elementary level or up to an entire semester at the middle and high school levels. These hands-on, sequential, age-appropriate activities supplement the regular classroom curriculum at each grade level. Volunteers become role models to students, presenting important life concepts through their diverse outside perspectives.
