April L. Kirkwood graduated from Youngstown State University earning a secondary English certification. She worked in the Special Education Department as a graduate assistant and received a master's degree in Community Counseling. Later she received further accreditation continuing her certification as a school counselor. She also earned a social work degree in the state of Ohio. Her radio show with Cumulus brought followers and advice seekers over the tri county area in Ohio. She has worked in private and community sectors for over twenty years.
