About The Junior Statesmen Foundation
The Junior State is a non-partisan, non-profit, entirely student-run organization that has worked to increase political awareness in high schools.
With over 10,000 members in most states, the Junior State of America (JSA) is the largest student-run organization in the United States. Students meet throughout the school year through high school chapter meetings and statewide and nationwide conventions. At these conventions, students listen to important political speakers, engage in social activity and most importantly, and engage in a wide variety of political discussion and debate with their fellow students. Through the art of civil discourse students have the opportunity to become directly engaged in politics. A secondary purpose of the Junior State is to teach leadership through practical experience, which is why JSA is student-run and led. The Junior State also runs prestigious summer programs at Georgetown, Princeton, & Stanford.
