The art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was originated in Brazil over 90 years ago. Known as the gentle art, its techniques are designed to teach the power of leverage. Students that train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu come from a variety of backgrounds, ages and sizes but they all share one thing in common, a desire to discover their best.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a sophisticated and complex martial art as it challenges both the body and the mind. BJJ has become extremely popular throughout the world because of the value of its techniques to MMA and UFC competitions. In the early 90's it was demonstrated by Royce Gracie that a smaller competitor could overcome much larger opponents by mastering the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training.
