Tex-Mex Express in Old Town Kissimmee opened on April 7th, 2009, but the Tex-Mex family goes back over five decades with various restaurants in New York and Georgia. Tex-Mex Old Town owner, Tony Labatos is no newcomer to the business either. After 20 years in the hotel industry working at Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Sheraton and various independent hotels he rose to the position of Regional Director of Food & Beverage for nine resorts. His passion however was still the day to day thrill of working in restaurants. Certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers, he was featured as the Wine Expert on various web sites including CNN.com. In October of 2008 Tony decided to go back to his roots where he could interact with his guests at the restaurant level and personally supervise.
