About Ellie Pots Inc.
I do handmade crystalline pottery. I throw all of my own pieces, do my own firing, and make all of my own glazes. My pottery is for decorative use.
Crystalline pottery is a decorative form of pottery. Crystals form in the glaze giving a very three dimensional appearance when seen under good lighting. The light highlights the shape and brings the piece to life. The process is a long and tedious one. It takes about two weeks from start to finish. The firing of crystalline glazes is where the art is. I can control the size and shape of my crystals by how I fluctuate the temperature. You will never get two pieces of my crystalline pottery that look alike. I only do one of a kind pieces. I can control the shape, size and color upon glazing but the crystals form where ever they want to and that makes for one of a kind pieces. I make bottles, vases, bowls, plates, and tiles. I also do pieces on request.
