WALTER REED FIRST MILITARY HOSPITAL TO USE
TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION TO TREAT DEPRESSION
WASHINGTON, D.C. ??? Walter Reed Army Medical Center treated its first behavioral health patient today with a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy device. Walter Reed is the first DoD facility to use this technology and one of the first U.S. facilities so far ??? joining others such as Brown University, Columbia University and Mayo-Rochester -- with the equipment and capability.
A TMS Therapy device was approved by the FDA last October to treat depressed patients who had not adequately benefited from prior antidepr
