About Cincinnati Museum Center
Multi-museum complex housed in Cincinnati Union Terminal, an art deco National HIstoric Landmark railroad station.
These institutions have existed for 190 years and since joining in Union Terminal's grand rotunda as Cincinnati Museum Center in 1990 is the largest cultural institution in Cincinnati, and with more than 1.3 million visitors annually, earning the 17th most highly attended museum in the US per Forbes Magazine.
Cincinnati History Museum and Library & Archives, began in Columbus as the Historical and Philosophical Society of Ohio in 1831, the Museum of Natural History & Science as the Western Museum Society in 1818 & the Duke Energy Children's Museum as the Cincinnati Children's Museum in 1995, joining CMC in 1998. Also, in West Union, OH is CMC's 14,000 acre Edge of Appalachia Preserve, founded in 1959 which is owned and managed jointly with The Nature Conservancy.
