About Kempsville Area Library
Public Library
The Kempsville Area Library is the second largest library in the city with 22,000 square feet with over 100,000 items including books, CDs, DVDs. eBooks for the Nook, Kindle, and other readers and downloadable audio books and popular music are available through the library web site. Programs include story times for ages 6 months through 5 years, other special events for school age children and teens, and an adult book club. The library has free Wi-Fi and 22 public computers providing Internet access, access to Microsoft Office 2007 products and printing for .20 per page. Computer use requires a valid Virginia Beach Public Libary card. Library cards are free for Virginia Beach residents. Public meeting room space is available for $10 per hour.

Opening Hours
Library hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 am until 7 pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am until 5 pm. Sunday hours are 1 pm to 5 pm from September the first weekend after Labor Day through the weekend before Memorial Day in May.
