About Roggentien Salvage
Roggentien Salvage is a family business, which was started back in 1936 in Marengo, Iowa. The business is now owned by Mike Roggentien.
Roggentien & Sons (the original business name), was started back in 1936 in Marengo, IA by brothers Joe & Ernest Roggentien. The business dealt in scrap iron & metals, installed glass and bought wool & furs. In 1987, Mike Roggentien took over the business and became sole owner, changing the name to Roggentien Salvage. He began to streamline the business and bring the salvage yard into the 21st century by concentrating on precious metals & iron. Roggentien Salvage services local industrial accounts, and local clientele continue to be a large part of the business with the growing demand for recycling of iron & metals. With the large spurt of international growth, metal exports are at an all time high. The volume of scrap handled has quadrupled in the past decade due to this global demand.
