About Saved Animals for Veterans Inc.
Saved Animals for Veterans Inc. was organized and incorporated to provide psychiatric service dogs (PSD) to veterans suffering from PTSD and/or TBI.
Saved Animals for Veterans Inc. (SAV) works in conjunction with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs Vet Clinic in Las Vegas,NV. If the councilor and doctor feel that a veteran suffering from post-traumatic-stress-disorder (PTSD) and or traumatic-brain-injury (TBI) will benefit from a psychiatric service dog (PSD). The doctor then refer the veteran to (SAV). We acquire dogs from 8 weeks to 1 year old. A veteran trained service dog produces a superior dog. For it is the 24/7 interaction between veteran and dog. The two learn from one another and a bond is formed. What the veteran must learn is the subtle "cue" the dog is trying to express when the the veterans demeanor changes and he or she becomes triggered or angry. A "trained" service dog will not produce the same results, for the veteran.
