About Walker County Science Center
Science and Technology support facility within the Walker County , Georgia School District.
Staff of the Science and Technology Center supports over 4000 computers, 20 local area networks, one wide area network, and over 10,000 end users.
A new planetarium, with a 40' diameter dome and theater seating for 92 visitors, is scheduled to open during Spring 2011. The former Walker County Planetarium opened in 1967 and provided astronomical and space science experiences for visitors from across the southeast until 1998.
The Science and Technology Center is home to the BugMobile and the Space Shuttle (www.walkerschools.org), as well as the International ComputerWorld Honors Program Award-Winning Eco-Connections Project (www.eco-connections.org).
