As a certified teacher and non-Austin native who is trying to start a family without having my own family (support group) nearby, I searched for a center with highly educated caretakers that also had a low teacher to child ratio. I didn't want just any center; I wanted one that felt like a home and would help me and my child with the transition of me returning to work.
There just wasn't such a place in Austin.
