About The Silver Shack
I make handmade jewellery, mostly chainmail, in sterling silver, copper and aluminium. I also make tiara's and bridal jewellery to order.
I have been making jewellery as a hobby since I was a teenager, I've had a website for a while to showcase pieces that I've made and earlier this year I decided to turn it into an online store. At the moment my work is mostly chainmail but I do like to try different styles of jewellery making and I wouldn't say I have one particular style as yet, some of my work is very pretty and dainty and other pieces are far more bold. I've recently started working with anodised aluminium and I love the bright colours and because it is such a light metal you can make larger pieces that would be too heavy to be practical in any other metal. I also make tiara's and bridal jewellery, but this tends to be for friends and family only as it's not what I really enjoy, although I would never turn away work!
